Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the F3K Timer mobile app ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

How much information we hold depends on how you use the app.

• Solo / offline use. If you only run solo sessions, your timing and scoring data is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us.
• Account information. If you sign in to sync or to join group sessions, we collect the information your sign-in provider shares with us — typically your name, email address and profile photo. Sign-in is handled through Google or Apple.
• Session data. When you host or join a group session, your session details — competition name, rounds, tasks, flight times, scores and the pilots in the session — are stored in our cloud backend so they can be shared and synced.
• Technical data. Our backend may automatically log basic technical information (such as device type, app version and timestamps) to keep the service running and diagnose problems.

2. How we use your information

• To provide core app features — timing, scoring and leaderboards.
• To sync your sessions across your devices and back them up.
• To let pilots in a group session see shared scores and rankings.
• To identify you to other pilots in a session (by name and photo).
• To maintain, secure and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Service providers

The app uses Google Firebase to provide authentication, cloud storage and syncing. Your data is processed and stored on Firebase infrastructure. Sign-in is provided by Google and Apple. These providers handle your data under their own privacy policies:

4. Sharing within group sessions

Group sessions are designed to be shared. When you join or host a session, other pilots in that session can see your display name, profile photo, flight times and scores for that session. Anyone with the session's QR code or invite link can join it, so only share invites with people you intend to compete with.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and session data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a session from within the app. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at the email below and we will remove it.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and our cloud data is hosted on Google's secured infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
